Web Developer Salaries in 2017

In the fast-growing field of web development, competitive salaries are beginning to pop up for several occupations that require coding knowledge. Here’s a very brief (but very useful) breakdown of industry salary expectations from 2017.

There are a few contributing factors that might impact what kind of money you’ll be pulling in. For starters, the career track itself. Front-end development, back-end development, or full stack—all come with varying average annual salaries.  Take a look:

                         Salary estimations taken from Indeed.com

Now, remember, these are just projections and averages from reported salaries, so don’t expect to be guaranteed these numbers.

Something else to consider is where you live. Depending on the cost of living or job demand, different cities will have higher or lower salaries for the same positions.. Do a little market research for the city you’re seeking to work in to get a better idea of what you could be making there.

Another thing to keep in mind is the type or size of the company you’re considering. A junior developer for say, Apple or Amazon, could be making a significantly larger amount than a junior developer for a small, privately owned startup.

In the end, what matters most is that you find a fulfilling job that you love with a company that values you, and fits your salary needs.
